oooooo, "en in die ou transvaal". ´n warme stukkie plastiese klankgrepe. daar vanuit die harde dae, toe goed soos die nog heeltemal, te mal was. heerlike (nou amper meer nostalgie as enige iets anders, maar heerlike) jazz kitaar vibes van die vol woord liedjie, Blond & Blou, amper alles van "kultuurbotsings op voorstoepe tot spiese wat teen ossewaens...", liefde vir die land en alles positief. die tweede, Blond & Blou, is nog ´n hopper. "lokasies vol bloed orals in die transvaal", ´n og ´n oorlog kry end, nog ´n volksmonument", die woorde bly tog van toepassing..en wanneer die liedjie eindig in ´n crescendo van dromme, simbale en kitare, kan die sosiale skokgolwe wat nou al so beskryf is amper gesien word.
al drie die snitte op kant 2 is verban, sien bo. the homecoming is tegnies die musikale begeleiding van shaun naidoo wat ´n toepraak gee, die diep jazz kitaar snare en rustige dromme, word met opswepende draaie saam met die woorde van die toespraak gesinkroniseer om sodoende die meegevoel en vereenselwiging te intensifiseer. hierdie kwasi-politiese optrede is wat baie van warric swinney se vroeëre werk gekenmerk het. sien Kalahari Surfers vir meer informasie...
